Joining Groups in Tutela

Groups are a great way to collaborate, network, exchange ideas, organize meetings and share files among other members of your team or other Tutela members. Tutela offers both Public and Private groups. Public groups can be accessed by any Tutela user whereas Private groups require approval to join.

Searching for Groups

1. Click on the Groups tab in the main menu of Tutela.



2. The Groups home page displays a complete list of groups sorted alphabetically.



Note: The number of Results is listed. Use the navigation bar to browse the pages. 



3. If you prefer, use the Search function. Click on the Search icon, enter search text and press the enter key to locate groups.



Note: For each group, the following information is displayed:

  • Title
  • Creator(s)
  • Privacy status (a lock icon icon for private groups, no icon for public groups, and an indicator for groups you belong to)
  • Number of members
  • Number of discussions
  • Group summary (purpose of the group)


4. Click on the group's title or the View button to open the group page.

Note:  The group's home page opens.

 

 

Joining a Public Group

1. Click on the group's title or the View button of the public group you want to join.


2. Click on the Join Group button found near the top of the group homepage.


 

Joining a Private Group

1. Click on the group's title or the View button of the private group you want to join.


2. Click on the Request to Join Group button found near the top of the group homepage.



Note: Once your request is approved, you will receive an email confirming your access to the private group.
