The Online users block shows who is currently logged into the course. This provides an invaluable way for instructors to contact learners in real time, and for learners to contact instructors or classmates when they are online.


In this example, two users are logged into the course. Beverly Davies, the instructor, is indicated by the eye icon. The learner, Ahmed Ali, is also currently online in the course. To send a message to the learner, Ms. Davies can click on the Send a message icon.



If you hover over a user's name, you will see how long they have been online.



Clicking on a user's name or picture opens that user's profile.
