Using the Screenshot and Screen Recording in the Feature Request Panel

Visitors can use the feature request form to propose site improvements.

Note: For more details about the Feature Request form, refer to Using Live Help.
Images and videos can be attached to the Feature Request (Send an Idea) function to suggest a feature. Check your browser's settings if the screen recording option is not available.

Adding a Screenshot to Your Feature Request

 

1. On your Avenue course, ​click on the Avenue Support tab. 


     
    Note: The Avenue Support panel appears. 
    2. Click on the Send an idea link.


     
    Note:  The Feature request pop-up appears.

    3. Add your idea. 


    4. Click on the Capture & Annotate screen button.


    Note: This tool only takes screenshots of the current Avenue page and will not work on other tabs or windows. 
    The annotation tools appear on the page.



    The Highlight tool is selected by default.

    5. Drag your mouse to select an area of the screen.


    6. Click on the Highlight icon to change a border colour. 
     


    7. Click on the other icons to leave a Comment on the image, draw something on the image with the Pen, draw an Arrow or Hide a section of the image. 

    8. When finished, click on the Add screenshot button.



    A new icon appears. 



    9. Click on the icon to delete the image or click on Submit to send it to the Avenue admin team. 

    Note: If you change your mind and decide against taking a screenshot, click on the X to close the Capture & Annotate screen and return to the Feature Request pop-up.


     

    Adding a Video to Your Request


    1. To attach a video to your request, click on the Record screen button.

     


    A small recording widget appears. 



    2. To add audio to the recording, click on the microphone icon. Note that clicking on the microphone again will turn the audio recording off.



    3. Click on the Start Recording button (REC).

    4. In the pop-up that appears, choose what you would like to share. There are three options: Tab, Window and Entire Screen.

     


    The above options will vary depending on your web browser and the type of device being used.


    5. Click Share to start the recording.



    The recording widget disappears and a small pop-up indicates that the recording has started.


    6. Click on Hide to remove this pop-up, or click on Stop sharing to end the video.



    Note: Clicking on Hide will make the recording widget visible again. 



    When the Stop sharing button is clicked, a new icon appears in the panel. 



    7. Click on the icon to delete the video or Submit to send it to the Avenue admin team. 

    Note: If you change your mind and decide against recording a video, click on the X to close the recording screen and return to the Feature Request pop-up.
