Adding a New Question into the Question Bank

This article demonstrates how to create a True/False question in the Avenue Question Bank. The same general process applies to other question types, although the available settings will vary by question type.
Creating questions directly in the Question Bank helps keep courses organized and makes questions easier to locate and reuse in the future.
Finding the Question Bank Category
1. On your course main page, click on the More option.
2. In the drop-down menu, click on the Question bank option.
3. On the Question bank page, click on the Questions drop-down.
4. In the drop-down menu, choose Categories.
5. Scroll to locate the category where you want to add the question and click on it.
6. On the Question bank page, click the Create a new question... button.
The Choose a question type to add window opens.
For other question types, select the appropriate question type.
8. Click on the Add button.
Note: Confirm that the correct category is selected in the Category drop-down menu. The number in parentheses indicates the number of questions currently in the category. For example, (1) indicates that the category contains one question.
11. Enter the question in the Question text field.
12. Set to Question status to Ready or Draft.
13. Enter the Default mark for this question.
14. If required, enter General feedback. This feedback is displayed to students after they answer the question.
16. Under Correct answer, select True or False.
17. Under Show standard instructions, select Yes or No. If Yes is selected, the instruction Select one is displayed before the question.
18. If required, enter feedback for the True and False responses. The appropriate feedback is displayed based on the student's answer.
Note: Do not set Tags to questions. Question tags are not used in Avenue.
The Question bank page opens and displays the newly created question in the category.
20. Open the Edit drop-down menu for the question and select Preview to review and test the question.
21. After reviewing the question, click Close preview.
22. Repeat these steps to add additional questions to the category as required.
