Adding a New Question into the Question Bank

In this document, a True False question is created within the Avenue Question Bank. Creating questions in the Question Bank is a good practice to keeping your course organized and allowing location of questions in the future more efficient. This practice is he same for all question types with individual question settings considered.
Finding the Question Bank Category
1. On your course main page, click on the More option.

2. In the drop-down, click on the Question bank option.


4. In the drop-down menu, choose Categories.

5. Scroll down to find the appropriate category.

6. In the Question bank screen, click the Create a new question... button.

The Choose a question type to add window opens.

8. Click on the Add button.
Note: Ensure the correct category appears in the Category drop-down menu. There is already one question in this category (1).
10. Type a name for the question next to Question name.
11. Type the Question text.

12. Set to Question status to Ready or Draft.
13. Set a Default mark for this question.
14. General Feedback is information shown to students after they answer a question. It can be added by typing it in the General feedback text box.

16. Set the Correct answer to either True or False.
17. Choose Yes or No to display Show standard instructions. If Yes, "Select one" shows before each question.

18. Options for adding Feedback for both true and false responses are available. These display depending on the student's answer

Note: Do not set Tags for a question. These are not used on the Avenue system.
Note: The Question bank page opens again, showing the newly created question in a list.

21. Click on the Edit drop-down and select the Preview option to preview and test the question.

22. After your review, click on the Close preview button.

23. Repeat these steps to add as many questions to the category as required.
