Showing and Hiding a Course

Courses can be hidden from students while they are being developed, updated, or during holidays. Your courses arrive in the hidden state. This allows new teachers to develop their courses in private. When the course is ready, the teacher follows the instructions below to reveal it to students.
Showing Your Course to Students
Note: The course does not need to be in Edit mode.
1. At the top of the Course Homepage, locate the Course navigation menu.
2. In the Course navigation menu, click on Settings.
3. In the General section, click on the Course visibility drop-down.
4. In the drop-down menu, click Show.
Note: Sometimes access is not immediate — it may take up to an hour before students can see the course.
5. Click on the Save and Display button.
Hiding Your Course from Your Students
Note: The Course navigation menu appears at the top of the Sections.
1. In the Course navigation menu, click on Settings.
2. In the General section, click on the Course visibility drop-down.
3. Choose Hide in the drop-down menu.
4. Click on the Save and display button.
After hiding the course, students cannot see it.
