Viewing a Course as a Student

When you are editing a course page or an activity, it can be helpful to temporarily view the course as a student would see it. You can do this using the Switch role to… function.
Using the Switch Role to … Function
1. Locate the Switch role to… function by clicking on your personal avatar or photo (profile image) at the top right of the screen.
Note: A drop-down menu appears.
2. Click on the Switch role to… option.
Note: The available role options appear.
Note: This is the student view of the page:
Note: There is a Course settings option to make hidden sections completely invisible to students.
4. To exit the student view and return to your normal role, you have two options. The first option is to click your profile image.
5. In the drop-down menu, click on the Return to my normal role link.
6. The second option is to click on the Return to my normal role link in the blue message box at the top of the course.
Note: The course returns to your normal role.
