Using Text and Media Area (Labels) in Your Course

The Text and media area (formerly known as Labels) serves as an informative spacer, source of information or signpost on an Avenue course page. It can be used to add text, images, hyperlinks, multimedia or code between other resources in different course sections.
Banners, titles or descriptions may be added here to distinguish and highlight different areas. (Be aware that excessive use of multimedia (sound, video) in Text and media areas can slow down the loading of a course page.) They can display text, images or multimedia items that delineate, demonstrate or introduce course topics, resources, or activities.
